The team’s ambition was to create an impressive, contemporary office space to welcome visitors and oversees staff as well as providing a spacious and comfortable environment for the UK team.

The design brief combined details from Japanese architecture in keeping with Mitsui’s heritage, combined with classic pieces of furniture for a timeless feel.

A welcoming space with coffee

The team didn’t want the traditional concept of a reception, instead creating a welcoming and flexible lounge-style space that’s also available for working and breakout for visitors. The space is kept light and open with a neutral palette and lots of glazing.

Here we installed the JURA JX10 bean-to-cup machine that would serve a full range of barista-style specialty coffees at the touch of a button.  The sleek lines and quality finish of this machine also compliment the high quality interior design.

Batch-brew filter serving the meeting rooms

Coffee is provided in the large boardroom and three smaller meeting rooms by a mains-water plumbed Specialty batch-brew filter machine.  Specialty coffee beans are ground fresh for brewing by an on-demand brew grinder.  This set-up, located in the kitchen / breakout area, allows speed of serve with a delicious cup and aroma.

An elegant double-walled glass carafe, coupled with double-walled glasses creates the perfect serve, whilst retaining the heat in the drinks during meetings.
